  • All adventure activities are included: On the trip, we will do fun activities like biking, rafting and zip lining.We promise you an unforgettable experience without any hidden costs. Go on an adventure and feel the rush of excitement!
  • Safety equipment for activities. All the equipment you need for adventure activities like biking, rafting and zip lines are included.
  • Accommodations: You’ll stay in a cozy, small hostel with rooms for 2 or 3 people. The beds are comfortable, so you can rest well after a full day.
  • First Aid kit: For any emergency, our guides are prepared and carry a fully equipped first aid kit.
  • All adventure activities are included: On the trip, we will do fun activities like biking, rafting and zip lining.We promise you an unforgettable experience without any hidden costs. Go on an adventure and feel the rush of excitement!
  • Return by Train: Your train usually leaves around 2:30, 2:55, or 3:20 PM, depending on availability. To catch it, you’ll take a 25-minute bus ride or a one-hour walk from Machu Picchu to Aguas Calientes. Be sure to arrive at the train station at least 30 minutes before departure. You can explore the town or grab lunch while you wait. The train ride to Ollantaytambo takes about 1 hour and 45 minutes. From there, a driver will pick you up and take you back to Cusco by minibus, which takes around 1 hour and 40 minutes. Your tour ends with a drop-off at Plaza Regocijo.

Excludes

  • Meals: Breakfast day 01, lunch and Dinner day 03.
  • Extra food and Snacks: You can buy it in Cusco or on the excursion. There are local shops where you can buy cookies, sodas and water..
  • Hot springs: the hot springs in santa teresa town costs 10 Soles and hot springs in Aguas calientes town cost you 20 soles.
  • Extra Hikes in Machu Picchu: Huayna Picchu and Machu Picchu Mountain are optional hikes you can do on your own after your main tour—they don’t include a guide. If you want a guide for these hikes, just ask in advance; there’s an extra fee for that. Tickets for either Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain cost $60 each.
  • Bus tickets up and down in Machu picchu: The buses going up and down are not included, so you can buy a ticket in Aguas Calientes or after Machu Picchu. It costs 12 dollars for each way, but you can also walk for 1 hour and 30 minutes from Aguas Calientes.

Recommended to carry

  • Original passport: you can't use a copy of your passport; you need to make sure your original passport is valid for at least six months to enter and leave Peru. Also, make sure your passport has two blank pages for the stamps when you come in and out.
  • Student ID: This is only required if you have booked the Salkantay Trek as a student. You must have a student card issued by your university (up to the age of 25). It should contain the following details: university information, personal information, a student photo and a valid date no later than 31 December of the year of travel.
  • Good-quality daypack: It's really important to find a good backpack that's comfortable, light and small, to fill in and carry all your belonging.
  • Botle water or Camel Bag: The bottle needs to hold 2 litres of water. It is important to choose a water bottle that can keep your water cold.
  • Hiking shoes: Make sure they fit well and are broken in.
  • Trekking poles: We really recommend them for the excursion and they are very useful. You can rent them from us.
  • Insect repellent:You will need insect repellent containing 15% deet at least. There have been no reports of malaria risk. This is essential to avoid bites and discomfort.
  • Emergency money: Please remember to bring extra money for any emergencies that might happen on the trip. is ideal to bring 300 soles/90 dollars in cash.
  • Personal Medication: Make sure you take your own medicine and basic first aid kit with you.
Itinerary

Day 1Cusco – Abra Malaga – Santa Maria - Santa Teresa.

Your journey begins in Cusco at 4:30 a.m., heading northwest through the Anta plains before descending into the Pomatales ravine. From there, you’ll enter the Sacred Valley and continue ascending toward the majestic Málaga Pass.

From the Málaga Pass, you’ll make your way down through the lush cloud forest until reaching Santa María. The climate between Santa María and Santa Teresa is warm and pleasant, as this area lies near the edge of the Quillabamba jungle.

Enjoy the Amazon Trek as you explore stunning landscapes and pass by local plantations of coffee, bananas, citrus fruits, and coca leaves—crops carefully cultivated by the communities of the region. After your hike, you’ll board a tourist vehicle to Santa Teresa, where you’ll prepare to relax and unwind in the soothing thermal baths of Cocalmayo.

  • Biking Distance: 48km / 1.5 to 2 hours.

Day 2Santa Teresa - Hidro Lectrica - Machu Picchu.

You’ll depart Santa Teresa by local transport at 5:30 a.m., heading toward Hidroeléctrica—a scenic drive of approximately 35 minutes. Upon arrival at around 6:00 a.m., you’ll begin a memorable 3-hour hike along the tracks to the town of Aguas Calientes.

Once in Aguas Calientes, you’ll have some free time to explore the town at your own pace. At 10:15 a.m., you’ll board the bus that will take you up to the awe-inspiring Machu Picchu. Your guided tour begins at noon, offering two enriching hours to discover and learn about the fascinating Inca citadel.

In the afternoon, you’ll board the tourist train that will take you back to Cusco, bringing your adventure to a close.

After the visit to Machu Picchu on Day 3, participants have the option to return to Aguas Calientes to catch the train back to Cusco or opt for a more adventurous walk back to Hydroelectric to catch the bus.
