Your journey begins in Cusco at 4:30 a.m., heading northwest through the Anta plains before descending into the Pomatales ravine. From there, you’ll enter the Sacred Valley and continue ascending toward the majestic Málaga Pass.
From the Málaga Pass, you’ll make your way down through the lush cloud forest until reaching Santa María. The climate between Santa María and Santa Teresa is warm and pleasant, as this area lies near the edge of the Quillabamba jungle.
Enjoy the Amazon Trek as you explore stunning landscapes and pass by local plantations of coffee, bananas, citrus fruits, and coca leaves—crops carefully cultivated by the communities of the region. After your hike, you’ll board a tourist vehicle to Santa Teresa, where you’ll prepare to relax and unwind in the soothing thermal baths of Cocalmayo.
You’ll depart Santa Teresa by local transport at 5:30 a.m., heading toward Hidroeléctrica—a scenic drive of approximately 35 minutes. Upon arrival at around 6:00 a.m., you’ll begin a memorable 3-hour hike along the tracks to the town of Aguas Calientes.
Once in Aguas Calientes, you’ll have some free time to explore the town at your own pace. At 10:15 a.m., you’ll board the bus that will take you up to the awe-inspiring Machu Picchu. Your guided tour begins at noon, offering two enriching hours to discover and learn about the fascinating Inca citadel.
In the afternoon, you’ll board the tourist train that will take you back to Cusco, bringing your adventure to a close.
The downhill biking experience on Day 1 lasts for approximately 2 to 3 hours. While it is thrilling, the route is designed to be accessible for participants of varying skill levels, including beginners. Safety gear and briefing are provided to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all.

The altitude ranges vary throughout the trek. On Day 1, the altitude ranges from a maximum of 4,350m at Abra Malaga to a minimum of 1,430m in Santa Maria. On Day 2, the altitude ranges from a maximum of 2,100m to a minimum of 1,800m in Santa Teresa. On Day 3, the altitude ranges from a maximum of 2,450m to a minimum of 2,100m in Aguas Calientes.
After the visit to Machu Picchu on Day 3, participants have the option to return to Aguas Calientes to catch the train back to Cusco or opt for a more adventurous walk back to Hydroelectric to catch the bus. This allows participants to choose the transportation option that best suits their preferences and schedule.
