What to bring

  • Original passport:you can't use a copy of your passport; you need to make sure your original passport is valid for at least six months to enter and leave Peru. Also, make sure your passport has two blank pages for the stamps when you come in and out.
  • Student ID:This is only required if you have booked tour as a student. You must have a student card issued by your university (up to the age of 25). It should contain the following details: university information, personal information, a student photo and a valid date no later than 31 December of the year of travel.
  • Insect repellent:Use one with at least 15% DEET. Although there’s no reported malaria risk, it’s important to prevent bites and stay comfortable.
  • Tennis shoes:Tennis shoes or hiking boots that grip well are important when walking on uneven and steep lands.
  • Comfy clothing:Dress for cold and windy weather, and be sure to bring a waterproof and windproof jacket.
  • Good daypack:Choose a comfortable, lightweight, and compact backpack to carry all your belongings easily throughout the day.
  • Sun Block:Make sure you take sunscreen, sunglasses and a hat to protect yourself from the sun at high altitudes.
  • Personal Medication:Don’t forget to bring your own medicine and a basic first aid kit for the trip.
  • Hats and sunglasses:The sun is intense at high altitude and you should protect your eyes from the glare. Wear one that offers UV protection and is comfortable.
  • Warm clothing:Since temperatures can vary a lot between day and night, it’s essential to bring proper gear like fleeces, long-sleeve shirts, down jackets, and a waterproof outer layer to stay comfortable throughout the tour.
  • Hand Sanitizer:Always carry a small bottle of hand sanitizer with you to disinfect your hands before eating, drinking, or after using the bathroom. It’s an essential item for maintaining hygiene during your trip.
Itinerary

Day 1 Arequipa | Airport Transfer – Hotel – City Tour

You will arrive at Arequipa Airport, Peru, where our team will be waiting for you with a sign displaying your name. You will be transferred to your hotel in Arequipa, where you will rest and acclimate before your tour starts around 1:30 PM.

In the afternoon, you will be picked up from your hotel to start your Arequipa City Tour, “The White City of Peru.” You will visit the Santa Catalina Monastery, one of the most important colonial sites in Peru, built in 1580 and expanded in the 17th century. You will explore over 20,000 m² of Mudejar-style architecture and vividly painted walls.

You will also visit the Main Square (Plaza de Armas), the Church of the Company of Jesus, and the districts of Cayma and Yanahuara, where you will enjoy panoramic views of the El Misti Volcano.

There are approximately 20 nuns currently living in the northern corner of the complex; the rest of the monastery is open to the public. Day 2Arequipa | Colca Valley Tour

You will start early and travel through the Andean highlands of Peru, one of the most scenic routes in the Colca Canyon tour.

You will pass through Yura, Pampa Cañahuas, Catahuas, and La Pulpera, where you will see wild vicuñas and traditional Andean cattle.

You will stop at the Mollepunco caves to see ancient petroglyphs and in Callalli to admire unique rock formations that look like enchanted castles.

You will visit La Calera hot springs, where you will relax in natural thermal baths under the stars. You will stay overnight in Chivay, the gateway to the Colca Canyon, Peru.

Day 3 Chivay | Cruz del Cóndor – Arequipa

You will depart early to the Cruz del Cóndor viewpoint, located at 15,000 feet (4,800 m), one of the best places in Peru to see the Andean condor in flight over the Colca Canyon.

You will continue into the canyon to explore pre-Inca ruins and observe traditional Andean life in remote villages.

You will return to Chivay for lunch and then travel back to Arequipa City, enjoying the scenic landscapes along the route.

Day 4 Hotel | Transfer Out – Arequipa Airport

After breakfast, you will be picked up from your hotel and transferred to Arequipa Airport for your departure, marking the end of your Arequipa and Colca Canyon tour in Peru.End of Services
