Itinerary

Day 1Iquitos - Amazon Lodge

When you arrive at the airport/Bus station or Hotel at the Iquitos, we will pick you up and take you straight to our office, If time allows, you can enjoy a short walking tour of Iquitos‘ most iconic spots before heading to our private jetty to board a speedboat to the lodge.

As you cruise along the Amazon River, take in the lush scenery and observe the floating houses (visible from November to July) and the local riverside communities. As you travel along the majestic river, enjoy the stunning views and keep an eye out for the floating houses.

Upon arrival at the Lodge: you’ll be welcomed with a traditional jungle drink and shown to your private cabin. Take some time to settle in and explore the lodge’s facilities.

After a traditional buffet lunch, head into the primary rainforest with your guide, who will introduce you to the region’s remarkable flora and fauna. Weather permitting, you’ll end the afternoon with a breathtaking sunset in the heart of the Amazon.

at night, embark on a night walk to discover the jungle’s nocturnal creatures such as frogs, insects and tarantulas. Finish your day with a delicious dinner and hear fascinating Amazonian myths that capture the spirit of the region.

Day 2Amazon Lodge - Yagua Comunity - Fishing.

Start the day with a relaxing canoe trip, which is ideal for birdwatching in the birds’ natural habitat. You may catch a glimpse of unique species such as the shansho
also known as the hoatzin, a bird that is both exotic and fascinating.

Back at the lodge, you’ll enjoy a traditional breakfast before heading to the Yagua indigenous community. There, you’ll learn about their traditions, clothing, ancestral language, and way of life. One of the most memorable experiences will be the demonstration of the traditional blowgun hunting technique of using a blowgun (pucuna), which you can also try out for yourself.

After this cultural experience, you’ll return to the lodge for a buffet-style lunch featuring local flavors.
In the afternoon, you will go on a recreational fishing excursion awaits you: you’ll try to catch piranhas and other Amazonian species, always accompanied by an expert guide.

In the evening, you will take a canoe to experience the jungle from a different perspective, accompanied by the intense and mysterious sounds of the Amazon under the stars. You’ll end the day with a delicious dinner at the lodge.

Overnight at the Cumaceba Amazon Lodge.

Day 3Amazon Lodge - Iquitos.

Enjoy the sunrise on the banks of the Amazon River, then go birdwatching by canoe on Padre Island. Go on a canoe ride to see the Victoria regia, the world’s largest aquatic plant. Have breakfast. Afterwards, take a tour along the river in search of grey and pink dolphins.

Next, visit a family who live by the river and are dedicate their lives to preserving species such as anacondas, sloths and turtles. Enjoy traditional drinks with aphrodisiac and medicinal properties. Have lunch. Relax in the hammock house. Return to Iquitos at 15:00 and be transferred to your hotel or the airport.
