  • Hot Springs: If you want to relax at the Aguas Calientes thermal baths, there is a small entrance fee of 20 soles per person, payable upon arrival.

  • Tips for Guides and Staff: Gratuities for guides, drivers, and other personnel are not included in the tour price. While tipping is optional, it is a kind gesture and greatly appreciated when you receive good service.
  • Alcoholic beverages: If meals are included, they usually do not include alcoholic beverages, which must be purchased separately.
  • Extra Hikes in Machu Picchu Huayna Picchu and Machu Picchu Mountain are optional hikes within the Machu Picchu Citadel. Itinerary

Day 1Cusco - Ollantaytambo - Machu Picchu - Cusco or Sacred Valley

Your guide will pick you up from your hotel in Cusco at 5:30 AM and transfer you to the train station in Ollantaytambo, where you will board the Vistadome Observatory train to Aguas Calientes.

The train journey lasts approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes, traveling from the highlands of Ollantaytambo through the cloud forest, following the picturesque Urubamba River. This rapid change of scenery offers passengers a unique and breathtaking view of the diverse Andean landscape.

Upon arrival in Aguas Calientes (also known as Machu Picchu Pueblo), your guide will provide some free time for coffee or snacks before a scenic 30-minute bus ride up to the Machu Picchu citadel.

After exploring Machu Picchu, enjoy a sumptuous lunch at the Belmond Sanctuary Lodge, the only hotel adjacent to the historic site. This five-star property features a restaurant serving a variety of international and Peruvian dishes, complemented by stunning views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. The buffet lunch highlights fresh, locally sourced ingredients, including produce from the hotel’s own gardens, ensuring an exquisite and authentic dining experience.

Following the tour, you will return by bus to Aguas Calientes, where you will have the opportunity to explore the town and shop. Afterwards, board the Vistadome Observatory train back to Ollantaytambo, where a private van will await to transfer you back to Cusco. You are expected to arrive at your hotel in Cusco around 8:00 PM.

Notably, after the Hiram Bingham Luxury Train, the Vistadome Observatory Train is the only service that allows passengers to move freely between carriages. It also features an Observatory Lounge where your tour guide will point out the most stunning landscapes and sights along the route.
