What to bring

  • Original Passport:A copy is not accepted, you must carry your original passport, valid for at least six months. Ensure it has at least two blank pages for entry and exit stamps.
  • Student ID (Physical Original Required):If you applied for a student discount, digital copies are not accepted. The card must be issued by your university, for travelers up to 25 years old, and include your photo, personal info, university details, and a valid date through December 31 of your travel year.
  • Hold all your tickets on hand:Make sure you have all your tickets—Trains, Entrance, Buses and any others. Either print them out or download them to your phone for easy access.
  • Insect repellent:Use one with at least 15% DEET. Although there’s no reported malaria risk, it’s important to prevent bites and stay comfortable.
  • Tennis shoes:Tennis shoes or hiking boots that grip well are important when walking on uneven and steep lands.
  • Comfy clothing:Dress for cold and windy weather, and be sure to bring a waterproof and windproof jacket.
  • Good daypack:Choose a comfortable, lightweight, and compact backpack to carry all your belongings easily throughout the day.

We’ll pick you up from your hotel in Cusco at 7:00 a.m. for a scenic drive of approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes to the Ollantaytambo train station. There, you will board the Expedition Train bound for Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu Pueblo).

The journey offers spectacular views as you travel from the highlands of Cusco through the Sacred Valley and into the lush cloud forest where Machu Picchu is located. Depending on your exact train schedule, the total travel time from Cusco to Aguas Calientes is approximately 4 hours.

Once At Ollantaytambo, you’ll board the train headed to Aguas Calientes. During this 1 hour and 45 minuteS journey, you’ll enjoy breathtaking landscapes of the Sacred Valley, surrounded by mountains, rivers, and archaeological sites.

Upon arrival in Aguas Calientes (at 2,000 meters above sea level), our staff will welcome you at the station and accompany you to your hotel. This charming town is known for its relaxing hot springs and cozy atmosphere.

Free Afternoon to Relax: The rest of the afternoon is yours to rest, explore the town, or enjoy the natural hot springs — the perfect time to unwind and prepare for your Machu Picchu adventure.

In the evening the Guide will contact you via WhatsApp for a briefing. You’ll receive all the essential details about your visit to Machu Picchu, ensuring you’re fully prepared for this unforgettable experience.

Day 2Aguas Calientes – Machu Picchu Citadel - Cusco.

Wake up early and enjoy breakfast at your hotel. Meet the Tour Guide and take a bus from Aguas Calientes to Machu Picchu, Once you arrive to this great citadel. you must present yout entry ticket and original passports.

Enjoy a 2–3 hour guided tour of the citadel, exploring the best of Machu picchu such as: terraces, temples, plazas, the Guardhouse, and scenic viewpoints, temples, and palaces, then you will have free time or hike to Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain are available for panoramic views (tickets not included, up on request).

We include Circuit 2 by default, as it provides the most comprehensive exploration of Machu Picchu. If it is unavailable, we will offer the best alternative—Circuit 3 or Circuit 1—to ensure an exceptional experience. We strongly recommend booking your Machu Picchu tickets well in advance, as availability is limited and the most popular circuits and schedules sell out quickly.

After exploring Machu Picchu, take the bus back to Aguas Calientes, where you can enjoy lunch, explore the town and look around the local shops. In the afternoon, you will board the Expedition Train for a 1.5-hour scenic journey to Ollantaytambo. followed by a private van ride back to Cusco. You are expected to arrive at your hotel in Cusco around 7:00 p.m.
