Day 01.- Cusco – Paucartambo – Pilcopata inn .

Your Journey to Manu: A Truly Unforgettable Experience¡¡¡

The adventure to Manu begins early in the morning as you leave Cusco in one of our comfortable and safe vehicles. As you travel, you’ll pass through stunning landscapes stretching between the majestic Andes and lush green valleys. You’ll pass through traditional communities full of history, warmth, and vibrant culture along the way.

One of your first stops will be the ancient Lupaca tombs, which were built before the Incas. There, you’ll have the chance to step back in time and reflect on Peru’s rich past. You’ll also visit the charming colonial town of Paucartambo, where you can stroll through the picturesque streets, explore the local museum, and experience everyday life in the Andes.

Around midday, you’ll enjoy a well-deserved lunch in the heart of the magical cloud forest ecosystem, which is full of life. Here, You might see the cock-of-the-rock, Peru’s national bird, and, if you’re lucky, the elusive spectacled bear. The road will surprise you constantly with its beauty: orchids, bromeliads, ferns, and lush greenery that feel almost otherworldly.

By the end of the day, you’ll arrive at your resting place: Pilcopata Inn, a cozy and welcoming lodge where you can unwind, recharge, and fall asleep surrounded by the peaceful sounds of the jungle.

Day 02.- Pilcopata inn – Amazon Manu Lodge.

A Day of Discovery in the Heart of the Amazon

After an early breakfast, you’ll visit a local coca plantation to learn about its traditional uses and importance in the region. Then, you’ll head to a wildlife rescue center, a special place, where you’ll see some native Amazonian animals and learn about the efforts to protect and care for them.

Next, your journey will continue to Puerto Atalaya, which is located on the banks of the Alto Madre de Dios River. There, you will board a motorized canoe and embark on an exciting river adventure. As you travel along the river, keep your eyes open—herons, vultures, cormorants, and many other birds may accompany you.

Around midday, you’ll arrive at Amazon Manu Lodge, There, you’ll enjoy a delicious lunch and some resting time to prepare for the afternoon activity: a guided hike to Lake Machuwasi. This peaceful and scenic spot is perfect for wildlife watching.

you’ll board rustic rafts and slowly float across the water. If you’re lucky and patient enough, you might spot the strange and fascinating hoatzin, a bird known as a “living fossil.” You may also see caimans, monkeys, and capybaras moving through their natural habitat.

Finally, you’ll return to the lodge, where you can relax while enjoying the peaceful sounds of the jungle. It’s the perfect way to end a day full of adventure and connection with nature.

Day 03 .-Amazon Manu Lodge - Cusco.

A Magical Morning in the Jungle

Today, you’ll start your day very early. Then, You’ll board a boat to see one of the most breathtaking experiences of your journey: the macaw clay lick. This natural wall along the riverbank attracts various species of parrots and macaws, such as blue-headed parrots, white-eyed parakeets, and chestnut-fronted macaws, each morning as they gather to feed on mineral-rich clay.

 

It’s a spectacular display of color, sound, and life that will leave you feeling deeply connected to the wild beauty of the rainforest.

After taking in this unforgettable scene, you’ll return to the lodge for a delicious breakfast. Then, it’s time to pack up and begin your return journey by boat to Puerto Atalaya. where your vehicle will be waiting there to take you back to Cusco.

You’ll stop for lunch along the way and have a chance to rest afterwards. You’ll arrive back in Cusco by late afternoon, around 5:30 p.m., with a heart full of memories from the magic of Manu.
