The cruise to Monte Amazon Lodge on Day 1 lasts approximately one hour.
The highlight of the visit to Monkey Island is the chance to observe a family of capuchin monkeys in their natural habitat on an island across the Madre de Dios River.
The exploration of Sandoval Lake includes a 3 km trek through the jungle, followed by a paddle canoe ride on the serene lake. Travelers have the opportunity to observe piranhas, various bird species, howler monkeys, and the endangered giant otters.

The evening’s search for white alligators and capybaras along the river was thrilling, ending with a delicious dinner at the lodge.
Day 2 took us on a jungle trek to the stunning Sandoval Lake. Gliding across the serene waters in a paddle canoe, we spotted piranhas, howler monkeys, and even the elusive giant otters. After a traditional lunch, we relaxed and enjoyed the breathtaking sunset over the Madre de Dios River. On the final day, the canopy walkway offered panoramic views and a chance to see tropical birds up close. Our early morning walk was a perfect ending to our rainforest adventure.
