Itinerary

Day 01.- Puerto Maldonado - Amazon Lodge - Monkey Island.

You will be picked up from the airport, bus station, or your hotel and transferred to our office for a pre-tour briefing, where you will receive important information about your itinerary, safety recommendations, and your upcoming Amazon jungle adventure in the Tambopata National Reserve.

From there, you will enjoy a scenic boat ride along the Madre de Dios River, traveling deep into the Peruvian Amazon rainforest, one of the most biodiverse ecosystems in the world.

You will arrive at your Tambopata eco-lodge, surrounded by pristine rainforest, incredible wildlife, and the peaceful sounds of nature.

With expert local guides, you will explore the incredible Amazon rainforest trails inside the famous Tambopata National Reserve, one of the best destinations for Amazon wildlife tours in Peru. Along the way, you will have the opportunity to spot monkeys, macaws, toucans, parrots, sloths, and other fascinating wildlife in their natural habitat.

You will also visit Monkey Island near Puerto Maldonado, where you can observe capuchin monkeys and learn about the unique biodiversity of the Peruvian Amazon. This is one of the most memorable wildlife experiences during your Tambopata Amazon adventure.

As night falls, you will set out on an exciting Amazon night tour along the river. With your guide and flashlights, you will explore the riverbanks searching for white caimans, capybaras, and other fascinating nocturnal wildlife. Day 02.-Amazon Lodge - Sandoval Lake.

After breakfast, you will start a guided 3-kilometer jungle hike through the Amazon rainforest in Peru toward Lake Sandoval, located inside the famous Tambopata National Reserve.

You will explore one of the most beautiful Amazon wildlife destinations in Peru, surrounded by tropical forest and rich biodiversity.

At the lake, you will board a traditional paddle canoe and glide across calm waters while enjoying amazing Amazon wildlife spotting. You may see piranhas, exotic birds, howler monkeys, and, if lucky, the rare giant river otters.

After this experience, you will return to your Amazon eco-lodge in Tambopata for a traditional Amazonian lunch.

In the afternoon, you will relax at the lodge or enjoy a peaceful sunset over the Madre de Dios River, surrounded by the sounds of the Peruvian Amazon jungle.

Day 03.- Amazon Lodge – Puerto Maldonado

You will wake up early around 5:30 a.m. and take a short walk to the lodge’s canopy walkway in the Amazon rainforest Peru.

You will climb about 40 meters above the jungle floor and enjoy panoramic views of the Madre de Dios River and the vast Peruvian Amazon jungle canopy.

From the canopy, you will experience one of the best Amazon wildlife viewing moments, where you may spot toucans, macaws, and other exotic tropical birds in their natural habitat.

After this early morning experience, you will return to the lodge for your final breakfast surrounded by the sounds of the Amazon rainforest.

You will then pack your belongings and prepare for departure. Our team will provide a comfortable transfer back to Puerto Maldonado, marking the end of your unforgettable Tambopata Eco Amazon Tour.
