Itinerary

Day 1Cusco to Apurímac River Rafting Adventure

You will begin your Apurímac River rafting adventure from Cusco with a hotel pickup at 08:30. From there, you will travel through the stunning Andes on a scenic 5-hour drive to Huallpachaca Bridge (6,562 ft), the starting point of your white water rafting tour in Peru. Along the way, you will enjoy breathtaking Andean landscapes, deep valleys, and views of the remote Apurímac Canyon, one of the most impressive rafting regions in South America.

Upon arrival, you will enjoy a freshly prepared lunch before receiving a complete safety briefing for your Apurímac River rafting experience. Your expert guides will explain essential techniques such as paddling commands, river safety, how to handle rapids, and rescue procedures, ensuring you feel confident and fully prepared before entering the water.

After the briefing, you will begin your first rafting section on the Apurímac River, navigating exciting Class II–III rapids surrounded by dramatic canyon scenery. This first rafting experience will last approximately 1.5 hours and will give you an ideal introduction to one of the best white water rafting adventures in Peru.

In the afternoon, you will arrive at a peaceful riverside campsite where you will spend your first night. Surrounded by untouched nature and towering canyon walls, you will enjoy a freshly prepared dinner under the stars, marking an unforgettable start to your 3-day rafting adventure in Peru.

Day 2Full Day Rafting on the Apurímac River

After a healthy breakfast, you will continue your 3-day Apurímac River rafting adventure in Peru with an early start around 9:00 a.m. You will spend approximately six hours on the river, navigating exciting Class III–IV white water rapids in the Apurímac River, one of the most thrilling rafting experiences in Peru.

When approaching the more challenging Class IV sections, your expert guides will ensure your safety with short portages, allowing you to bypass difficult areas while continuing your journey through the spectacular Apurímac Canyon, one of the deepest canyons in South America. Along the way, you will stop for lunch and rest, taking in the canyon’s dramatic landscapes and potential wildlife sightings along this remote Peru rafting route.

You will arrive at camp around 4:30 p.m., where you will have time to relax and enjoy tea before a freshly prepared dinner. Tonight, you will sleep on a sandy riverbank under the clear night sky of the Southern Hemisphere, experiencing the peace and beauty of the Apurímac River rafting expedition after a full day of adventure.

Day 3Final Thrilling Rafting on the Apurímac River

After a hearty breakfast, you will gear up for your final and most thrilling day on the Apurímac River rafting adventure in Peru. Today you will navigate a spectacular section of the river featuring powerful Class V white water rapids, including legendary names such as “Tooth Ache,” “You First,” and “Last Laugh.” For your safety, you will portage around two of the larger rapids while your expert guides manage the equipment and ensure a smooth and secure journey.

You will spend approximately five hours rafting through this dramatic stretch of the Apurímac Canyon, surrounded by towering canyon walls, deep gorges, and breathtaking Andean landscapes. This final rafting section offers the most intense and rewarding part of your 3-day Peru rafting tour, combining adrenaline, skill, and natural beauty.

Your adventure will conclude at Quinta Primavera, near Kunyak Bridge, where you will help pack up the gear before beginning your return drive to Cusco, arriving around 5:00 p.m. Along the way, you will reflect on an unforgettable journey through one of the best white water rafting experiences in Peru.
