Itinerary

Day 1Cusco – Ollantaytambo – Aguas Calientes.

You will be picked up from your hotel in Cusco at 7:00 a.m. for a scenic drive of approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes to Ollantaytambo train station. From there, you will board the Expedition Train to Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu Pueblo), the gateway to Machu Picchu.

Enjoy a breathtaking journey through the Sacred Valley of the Incas, traveling from the highlands of Cusco into the lush cloud forest. This scenic train ride through the Andes offers spectacular views of rivers, mountains, and traditional Andean landscapes. The total travel time from Cusco to Aguas Calientes is approximately 4 hours.

Upon arrival in Aguas Calientes (2,000 meters above sea level), you will be met by our staff and escorted to your hotel. This charming town is known for its hot springs, natural beauty, and relaxed atmosphere.

The afternoon is free for you to explore Aguas Calientes, relax, or enjoy the natural hot springs — the perfect way to prepare for your Machu Picchu tour.

In the evening, your expert Machu Picchu guide will contact you via WhatsApp for a pre-departure briefing, providing all essential details to ensure a smooth and unforgettable Peru travel experience.

Day 2Aguas Calientes – Machu Picchu – Cusco

You will wake up early and enjoy breakfast at your hotel in Aguas Calientes before meeting your expert tour guide. Then, you will take a bus to Machu Picchu, the legendary Inca citadel and one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. Upon arrival, you must present your entry ticket and original passport.

Enjoy a 2–3 hour guided tour of Machu Picchu, exploring its most important highlights, including terraces, temples, plazas, the Guardhouse, and panoramic viewpoints. After the guided visit, you will have free time to explore on your own or, if booked in advance, hike Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain for breathtaking panoramic views (optional, tickets not included).

We include Circuit 2 by default, offering the most complete Machu Picchu experience. If unavailable, the best alternative—Circuit 1 or Circuit 3—will be arranged to ensure a high-quality visit. We strongly recommend booking Machu Picchu tickets in advance, as availability is limited and popular circuits sell out quickly.

After your visit, you will take the bus back to Aguas Calientes, where you can enjoy lunch, explore the town, or shop in local markets. In the afternoon, you will board the Expedition Train for a scenic 1.5-hour journey to Ollantaytambo, followed by a private transfer back to Cusco. Your arrival at your hotel is expected around 7:00 p.m.
