Itinerary

Day 1Iquitos - Cumaceba Amazon Lodge

Your Amazon adventure starts with pickup from the airport or your hotel in Iquitos. Explore the historic center and see famous landmarks such as the Casa de Fierro, Hotel Palace, Casa Cohen, and Casa Fitzcarraldo.

Then, take a boat from the Itaya River to the Amazon River. Enjoy the beautiful rainforest views and see local riverside communities along the way.

Arrive at Cumaceba Amazon Lodge, settle into your private cabin, and enjoy a delicious local lunch.

In the afternoon, explore the rainforest with your guide. Discover medicinal plants, giant trees, and friendly squirrel monkeys. If the weather is good, enjoy a beautiful Amazon sunset.

After dinner, enjoy an exciting night canoe ride on Shansho Lagoon. Look for caimans with your flashlight and listen to the sounds of frogs, birds, and the jungle at night.

End your day at the lodge with fascinating Amazonian stories and legends.

Day 2Cumaceba Lodge - Iquitos

Wake up with the first rays of sunlight and enjoy an early morning canoe ride to spot Amazonian birds in their natural habitat. Keep an eye out for the famous Hoatzin and other colorful species.

After breakfast, visit Neyser Wildlife Center, a local conservation project where you can see monkeys, sloths, and other rescued animals being cared for in a semi-wild environment.

Then, enjoy one of the highlights of your Amazon adventure: a search for pink and gray river dolphins. Cruise along the river and, with a little luck, watch these amazing animals swimming and playing in the wild.

Return to the lodge for a final Amazonian lunch before heading back to Iquitos.

Once you arrive, you’ll be transferred by motokar to your hotel or by private vehicle to the airport, depending on your travel plans.
