Embark on an unforgettable journey through the Colca Canyon, which is one of the deepest canyons in the world. You will spend two days and one night exploring the beautiful landscapes, traditional Andean villages and natural wonders of the valley.
Visit Chivay, famous for its relaxing hot springs, and take in the amazing views from the Cruz del Cóndor. If you’re lucky, you might see the huge Andean condor flying through the canyon.
Along the way, you will see beautiful views, visit old churches and walk through old farming terraces. These are a great example of the ingenuity of ancient Andean civilisations.

Between 7:30 and 8:00 a.m., we will pick travelers up from their hotels to begin the journey to one of the deepest canyons in the world.
Our tour follows the Yura route, passing the impressive Chachani snow-capped mountain until reaching Pampa Cañahuas, in the Salinas and Aguada Blanca National Reserve. This is where the elegant vicuña, one of the four South American camelids, lives naturally.
At the Tocra wetlands, youll see a variety of migratory birds, including the beautiful Andean flamingos.
You will also see the crater of the Chucura volcano, which is now extinct. You will also stop at the Volcano viewpoint, which is the highest point of the tour at 4,910 m above sea level. From there, you can enjoy spectacular views of the Western Andes Mountains.
You will arrive in Chivay between 1:30 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. You have free time for lunch.
After that, you’ll check into your hotel and relax.
Please note: if you’re staying at Colca Lodge, Refugio, Casitas del Colca, or Aranwa, you’ll be able to use the hotel’s facilities, and dinner will be served there.
In the afternoon, relax in the La Calera hot springs, where the water is between 35 and 38°C.
At 7:00 p.m. there will be a folklore show followed by dinner for those staying in Chivay.
If your hotel is in Yanque town, you will need to arrange a separate transfer.
6:00 a.m. – Breakfast at the hotel.
6:30 a.m. – We depart toward the Cruz del Cóndor, a spectacular viewpoint overlooking the Colca Canyon. From here, you’ll enjoy breathtaking views of the canyon, if you’re lucky, you might see the Andean condor flying through the sky. The Andean condor is a powerful symbol of the Andes.
On the way back, you’ll visit the charming towns of Maca and Yanque, known for their old churches and interesting cultural traditions.
you’ll also stop at the beautiful viewpoints of Antahuilque, Huayrapunko, and Peña Blanca, where you can admire the beauty of the valley and its impressive pre-Incan terrace. A great example of how clever people were in the past.
Free time for lunch in Chivay.
1:00 p.m. – Start heading back to Arequipa, stopping briefly in Patahuasi.
You will arrive in Arequipa between 4:30 and 5:00 p.m.
End of the Tour
The first activity on Day 1 is an early start to witness the Colca Valley awakening under the sunrise’s golden hues.
During the journey, you might witness the unique spectacle of “combatant cattle,” which is a display of dominance within the herds.
The highlight of Day 2’s excursion to Cruz del Condor is witnessing the majestic Andean Condor soaring against the backdrop of the Colca Canyon’s canyon walls.
The optional activity during the return journey to Chivay is a one-hour hike along the rim of the canyon, weather permitting and requiring a moderate level of fitness.
