You will enjoy a buffet-style lunch and, in the afternoon, take a guided walk through the jungle, where your guide will introduce you to the area’s local flora and fauna. Later, you will have the chance to witness an unforgettable sunset over the Amazon River.

As night falls, you will join a guided walk to observe insects, amphibians, tarantulas, and other species that only emerge after dark. Back at the lodge, a traditional dinner will be served, followed by a storytelling session featuring Amazonian legends and myths that will further connect you with the magic of this unique place.

You will spend the night at Cumaceba Amazon Lodge.

Day 2Ancestral Culture and Encounters with Amazonian Wildlife

You will start the day with an early morning excursion to observe birds, either by walking around the lodge surroundings or navigating to a nearby lagoon. There, you will have the opportunity to spot the legendary Shansho (Hoatzin), one of the most iconic birds of the Amazon rainforest. Upon returning, a traditional breakfast will be waiting for you at the lodge.

Next, you will visit a native community of the Yagua people, where you will learn about their traditional clothing, language, lifestyle, and ancestral hunting technique using the blowgun. You will also have the chance to admire and purchase their handmade crafts, rich in history and symbolism.

After a self-service lunch, you will head back out onto the Amazon River, this time to visit a riverside family that cares for and preserves species such as sloths, monkeys, turtles, boas (anacondas), and others. Later, you will enjoy a truly unique experience: searching for the famous pink and gray river dolphins that inhabit these waters.

As night falls, an evening canoe excursion awaits, where you will be surrounded by the mystical and deep sounds of the tropical rainforest. Upon returning, you will enjoy a traditional dinner at the lodge, the perfect way to end another adventure-filled day.
