Your journey to Machu Picchu begins at 7:00 a.m. with hotel pickup in Cusco. Sit back and enjoy a scenic 1.5-hour drive to Ollantaytambo, where your train journey to the Andes begins.

At the train station, you’ll board the Expedition Train to Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu Pueblo), the gateway to the legendary citadel of Machu Picchu.

As the train leaves the highlands behind, you’ll travel through the breathtaking Sacred Valley of the Incas, following the Urubamba River as the landscape transforms from rugged mountains into lush cloud forest. Along the way, enjoy spectacular views of rivers, mountains, and traditional Andean landscapes.

The journey from Cusco to Aguas Calientes takes approximately 4 hours, combining road and train travel.

Upon arrival in Aguas Calientes, located at approximately 2,000 meters (6,562 ft) above sea level, our staff will meet you and escort you to your hotel. Take some time to settle in and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of this charming mountain town, famous for its natural surroundings and hot springs.

The rest of the afternoon is yours. Explore Aguas Calientes, relax, or unwind in the natural hot springs—the perfect way to recharge before your Machu Picchu adventure.

In the evening, your expert Machu Picchu guide will contact you via WhatsApp for a pre-departure briefing. You’ll receive the essential information for the following day, so you can relax and look forward to discovering the legendary Inca citadel.

Day 2Aguas Calientes – Machu Picchu – Cusco

Wake up early and enjoy breakfast at your hotel in Aguas Calientes before meeting your expert guide. Today is the moment you’ve been waiting for: discovering the legendary Machu Picchu.

You’ll board the shuttle bus and travel up the mountains to the entrance of the Inca citadel. Present your entrance ticket and original passport, then step inside this extraordinary UNESCO World Heritage Site.

During your 2–3-hour guided tour, you’ll explore ancient temples, agricultural terraces, ceremonial plazas, the Guardhouse, and breathtaking viewpoints. Along the way, your local guide will bring the history and stories of the Inca civilization to life.

Important: Circuit 2 is included by default and offers one of the most complete routes through Machu Picchu. If it is unavailable, Circuit 1 or Circuit 3 will be assigned according to official availability.

If you have booked an additional mountain ticket in advance, you can hike Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain for spectacular panoramic views. These hikes are optional and require a separate entrance ticket.

After your visit, you’ll take the bus back to Aguas Calientes, where you can enjoy lunch, explore the local markets, or take a final walk through the town.

In the afternoon, board the Expedition Train and enjoy a scenic journey through the Andes to Ollantaytambo. From there, your private transportation will take you back to Cusco.
