You’ll start your adventure with an early 4:00 a.m. pickup from your hotel in Cusco and travel into the Peruvian Andes toward Waqra Pukara. Along the way, you’ll enjoy a traditional breakfast in Cusipata before continuing to Punta Carretera, where your hike begins.
You’ll follow a scenic 1.5-hour mountain trail through remote valleys and beautiful Andean landscapes. As you hike, you may spot condors, llamas, alpacas, and viscachas along the way, adding to the authentic feel of your journey.
You’ll then reach Waqra Pukara, an impressive Inca archaeological site dramatically perched above a canyon. With your local guide, you’ll explore the ancient site, learn about its history and cultural significance, and take in panoramic views of the surrounding Andes.
You’ll have time to explore the ruins, take photos, and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere before hiking back to Punta Carretera.
After your trek, you’ll return to Cusipata for a delicious buffet lunch. Then, you’ll relax on the journey back to Cusco, arriving around 6:00 p.m.
