Itinerary

Day 1:Welcome to the Amazon Jungle

We will pick you up from the airport, bus station, or your hotel in Puerto Maldonado and transfer you to our office. where you’ll receive all the essential information about Amazon tour.

If you’re traveling with large luggage, don’t worry — we’ll help you repack so that you can leave any unnecessary belongings at the office and only bring what you need for your adventure.

The lighter you travel, the more you will enjoy the experience.

After that, You’ll hop into a 4×4 vehicle for a two hour ride through lush rainforest landscapes toward the Tambopata River. (The full river route takes over six hours, but this way, you’ll have more time for adventure and discovery)

On the riverbank, a motorized boat will be waiting to take you to the heart of the jungle, where the Tambopata Amazon Lodge

Depending on when you arrive, you will be welcomed with a delicious tasty breakfast or lunch. This is the perfect way to recharge before your first rainforest encounter.

In the afternoon, you’ll be immersed in the Amazon jungle.You’ll go on a guided walk where you’ll see amazing animals like insects, amphibians, reptiles, and mammals.

You might even be surprised! This is the best way to begin connecting with the Amazon!

Day 2:Lodge Macaw clay Lick -Puerto Maldonado.

At 4:30 a.m., you’ll embark on an unforgettable boat trip to El Chuncho, the world’s largest macaw clay lick.

As you cruise down the Tambopata River in the soft light of dawn, keep your eyes peeled. You’ll be entering the territory of some of the most iconic creatures in the Amazon. If you’re lucky, you might see capybaras (the world’s largest rodents), tapirs, or even the elusive and majestic jaguar.

When you arrive at the clay lick, you’ll witness something magical. First, you’ll see flocks of up to 11 different species of parrots gathered on the clay walls by the river.

Then, the main event will start with the macaws arriving. They’ll fly across the sky in a bright display of red, green, blue, and yellow before landing to eat the mineral-rich clay..

This is an important part of their diet and helps them digest their food. It is not only fascinating, but also one of the most impressive bird spectacles in the world.

On a good day, you can see hundreds of macaws circling overhead. They squawk and whirl, filling the sky with color. Few people have the opportunity to experience this unforgettable scene.
